Sr Materials Analyst
The position responsibilities will include:
- The overall accuracy of the on hand perpetual inventory. This would
involve the validation of the accuracy of all inventory transactions
Implement and/or improve policies, procedures, and controls for all
inventory transactions
- Design and implement an effective cycle count system. This would
include analyzing, perpetual to count variances, identifying root cause
problems in systems, processes, procedures, controls, and human errors
and recommending effective corrective solutions
- Primary Material Control individual responsible for conducting physical
inventories for finished goods and WIP.
- Work closely with the Finance department in analyzing general ledger to
perpetual inventory variances
- Work with the Finance department to facilitate the linkage of general
ledger transaction with the perpetual inventory.
Work closely with Engineering to ensure the accuracy of bills of
materials.
- Work with other material department disciplines (scheduling and customer
service, planning and purchasing) to understand system and material
flow logic.
- Develop value stream maps of process and flow within MRP System and
implement improvement strategies to resolve problems relating to
inventory inaccuracies.
- Involvement with day-to-day transactions as assigned by Materials Management.
- Special inventory projects as assigned by Materials Management
The background for this position should include:
- BS Degree
- Minimum of 5 years inventory control experience with a modern ERP/MRP system.
- Experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to design, analyze, problem solve, trouble shoot, and implement effective inventory controls policies and procedures
- Proven ability to implement an effective cycle counting system
- Self starter with ability to manage tasks to completion.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting theory and practice
- Understands BOM structures, effectivity dates and can decipher the linkages through to top level of BOM structure
- Microsoft office experience in Word, Excel and Access required.
- APICS CPIM certification a plus
